Happy Spring TulipsSpring

Business Expo/Health & Wellness Fair, Saturday, May 2, 9 am - 1 pm, Moraine Valley Church, 6300 W. 127th Street. This free event is hosted by the Palos Area Chamber and open to the public. To become a sponsor or vendor, please call 708-480-3025 or email  info@palosareachamber.org

First Midwest 1/2 Marathon and 10K Race & Walk, Run, Roll Race, Sunday, May 3, 7:30 am Start at Rt. 83 and 76th Avenue. Race participants can register at www.firstmidwesthalfmarathon.com.  Volunteers are needed for to make the race the success it has been for the last 8 years. Click here for a Volunteer Form.

Palos Heights' Farmers Market opens for the season on Wednesday, May 6, 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Municipal Parking Lot, 12217 S. Harlem Avenue, Rain or Shine.

"Dinner with Eleanor"  Annual Meeting of the League of Women Voters of Palos-Orland, Tuesday, May 5, Midlothian Country Club's Cottage. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. $40 per person. Award-winning actress Leslie Goddard portrays Eleanor Roosevelt and will take dinner guests on a journey through her joys and struggles. This event is open to the public. Elim Eagles' 5K Run/Walk/Roll, Saturday, May 9, 9 a.m. at Elim's Campus, 13020 S. Central Avenue. For additional info, please call 389-0555.

Adopt A Pot Program is seeking sponsorships for 2015. Businesses, groups and individuals are welcome to Adopt-a-Pot and help beautify our city. Participation includes: all flowers, signage, maintenance and watering. Sponsorship cost is $80 per pot.  Click here for an application. Planting Day will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 8 a.m. Meet in the Palos Pool parking lot. Volunteers are NEEDED and WELCOMED. Free continental breakfast will be provided.
