Annual Holiday Tree Decorating Contest: Winners will be announced at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Please have someone from your group attend to receive either your prize or certificate.
Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Friday, Dec. 4, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Palos Heights Fire Station, 123rd & Harlem. The holidays begin with the Mayor lighting the big tree and a Christmas carol sing-along. Featuring Santa arriving on a fire truck, photo ops with Santa, treat bags for children, free face painting and crafts, holiday wagon rides, hot chocolate, cookies, popcorn.
Holidays on Harlem, Dec. 4 and 5 in the Harlem Avenue Shopping District. In conjunction with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Harlem Avenue Business Association is planning this special event and many business will be offering special discounts, deals, and refreshments on these two days. Friday, Dec. 4, 6 - 9 pm, and Sat. Dec. 5, Noon - 9 pm. This event will also feature horse drawn carriage rides, carolers, festive Christmas decorations and music, raffle baskets, children's activities, marshmallow roasting, a food pantry and much more.
