The Facade Improvement Program was adopted by the City of Palos Heights in 2008 to improve the aesthetic appearance of buildings in the B and B-1 zoning districts. The program provides a financial incentive of up to 50% of a qualifying projects cost or $10,000 (whichever is less) for property owners and business owners to reinvest in their buildings.
In 2009, three businesses took advantage of the program including Capri Italian Ristorante, Papa’s Fresh Foods, and Sam Buca’s Restaurant & Bar. Links to each of their Facade Improvement Program projects are below.
For the 2010 fiscal year, The City of Palos Heights has proposed to set $30,000 aside for the Facade Improvement Program. The City Council will vote on approval of these funds in March of 2010. If approved, the City of Palos Heights will begin accepting applications for the Program.
