SCHEDULE OF EVENTS for July 3, 2010

Indepence Day Parade - Saturday, July 3rd (2:30pm)

The annual parade on Harlem Ave starts at 2:30pm in front of Palos Bank & Trust and head north to 119th Street. We'd love for you to join us! Decorate your bicycles, wagons and strollers and be a part of the holiday fun! If you and/or your group would like to enter the parade, you will need to register by June at the Recreation Center, 6601 W. 127th St. For more information, call (708) 361-1807.

Bean Bag Tournament - Saturday, July 3rd (5:30pm)

Single Elimination tournament for all ages. Limited to the first pre-registered 16 pairs that sign up, this popular backyard game hits the Heights at the annual Indepence Day Festival. Tournament starts at 5:30pm. You can register at the Recreation Center any time before July 3rd, or at the Gazebo between 4:30-5:00 the day of the tournament.

Indepence Day Festival in Memorial Park - Saturday, July 3rd (3:30pm)

Join friends, family and fellow residents in Memorial Park (Rte. 83 & 76th Ave) to enjoy many family festivities! Events include: petting zoo, pony rides, moonwalk, giant slide, climbing wall, obstacle course, velcro wall, bungee run, mini golf and MORE! Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are on sale in the Gazebo from 3:30-7:30pm. No refunds will be issued for unused tickets.

Fireworks at Lake Katherine - Saturday, July 3rd (9:15pm)

Bring your friends and neighbors to celebrate the birth of our nation under the stars at Lake Katherine and watch the fireworks from the best spot in town. The fireworks will be accompanied by the Tinley Park Arts Alive! Concert Band. For information on "A Star-Spangled Blast" at Lake Katherine, call (708) 361-1873.
