New Public Arts Brochure

by The City of Palos Heights

Summer is a great time to get out and enjoy our community...whether by foot, bike or car. The new Public Arts brochure is available at City Hall and the Library and it features an easy-to-follow map with all the locations of sculptures and murals. Take time to appreciate the arts or introduce the collection to a friend or visitor.  The Arts Roundtable has met three times since its creation last November.

The gathering of arts-related groups from the entire southwest area provides opportunities to connect, share programming ideas, challenges/successes as well as create an ongoing dialogue which never existed before. Ongoing projects that Public Arts is working on is a children-friendly addition to the new Recreation Building addition. (More details to come). PAC has also partnered with the Foresters Photography Club in creating an exhibit for the entrance of “The Shoppes” of Palos and Palos South Middle School art student’s work is featured in a vacant business on the west side of Harlem Avenue.

It is a pleasure to welcome a new commissioner, Mike White, to Public Arts as he has been alongtime Palos Heights resident. We also thank everyone who has ‘Liked” us on Facebook - ArtPalosHeights as our followers has dramatically increased.
